Reflections on the Le Hoi Quan Am Festival

By April 3, 2012April 23rd, 2015News

We just finished our third year providing sound at the annual Quan Am Buddhist celebration at the Vietnam Buddhist Center near Sugar Land, Texas.

The primary challenge of this event was giving even coverage to the audience, while controlling audio feeds originating from three stages located along three sides of the temple grounds. The elongated rectangular layout measured 125ft deep, and 250ft wide. In order to evenly cover such a wide audience, we placed a 7/side Nexo GeoS12 line array on either side of the 48′ main stage and powered them with a PowerSoft K8. We also provided two out field arrays, consisting of 4 Nexo GeoS12 each, placed approximately 70 ft further out, each powered with a NEXO 4×4 Amplifier. The tops paired nicely with 8 SoundBridge QUAD 2×18″ Subs, powered by PowerSoft K6’s.

Even with a slight language barrier, the event was extremely successful. We were able to offer the sound support they needed and the overall festival sounded great. We are already planning audio gear for the next festival and look forward to working with the all of the people at the Vietnam Buddhist Center again soon.
